We Must Lose Our Excuses to Gain Our Results
Nov 23, 2022I have a big sign on the wall in my office that says, “You Can’t Deposit Excuses.”
I absolutely love this sign because it is a daily reminder to me that we always have a choice - a choice to either create excuses or to create results.
We cannot do both. It’s either one or the other.
(Click on the image above if you prefer to watch a video rather than read.)
If we choose to make excuses for our lack of results, it will not serve us well and rarely if ever will translate into success.
The literal idea behind my sign, for those of us who are entrepreneurs, is to help us realize that the excuses we create can never translate into income (or impact) that we can deposit in the bank.
To me, this sign is a great reminder that as challenges come our way each day, we have a choice to either be problem focused or solutions focused.
Have you ever made excuses as to why you are not accomplishing what you desire to accomplish in any area of life?
I am embarrassed to admit that far too many times in the past I have made excuses, maybe not always verbally but internally, and it’s never served me well.
Can you relate?
Maybe you’ve made excuses for where you are spiritually, or in a particular relationship, or an area of health and fitness, maybe in the area of debt and finances, or possibly for a lack of success in business?
If you have, today is the day to stop making excuses and to begin settling for nothing less than to focus on solutions and creating results.
Maybe a change in schedule is needed, or improvement in something related to self-discipline or focus that needs to be improved, or possibly it’s more time that must be given to an important area of life that you desire to improve, or something different altogether.
Whatever may be needed, I encourage you to seek that out.
Be solution focused.
Be results focused.
Don’t be afraid to ask for help figuring things out, if needed. Oftentimes, getting some outside perspective is very helpful.
Until next Wednesday, I will challenge you…
Each time you are faced with a choice to create excuses or create results, despite the size of the obstacle, choose the latter.
It’s a much more rewarding, fulfilling, emotionally satisfying, and productive way to live.
I’d love to hear about some of your wins over this next week so please share.
