Are You Listening to Yourself or Talking to Yourself?

Are You Listening to Yourself or Talking to Yourself?

Did you know that nearly everything is either won or lost in the six inches between our two ears.

I mean everything! Relationships, business, finances, health, you name it!

That is where the battleground for our thoughts takes place.

Are you winning the battle?

If you want to hear a key to overcoming the negative voices in your head, and enjoy better success in life, read on...

Here’s a great question to consider…Are you listening to yourself or talking to yourself?

The negative voices, the negative statements you make internally, the negative questions you ask in our mind, are not unique to you.

Everyone must face them and make a choice of how to handle them.

The choice is to either allow those thoughts and “voices” to run free or take control of them.

As 2 Corinthians 10:5 says, “Take every thought captive…” which means we do not allow them to recklessly linger in our minds.

We take control of them and stop them in their tracks.

Here’s how…stop listening to yourself and start talking to yourself.

It’s really that simple.

If I had listened to myself while going through the incredibly difficult, bootcamp style, 26 month long, live-in California Highway Patrol academy at age 26, I too may have quit early like a couple former marine buddies of mine did.

If I listened to myself during my first marathon, when the pain was so great that my body screamed at me to stop running hard and start walking, I likely would not have run the entire 26.2 miles averaging 7 min 53 second mile pace.

If I had listened to my thoughts of self-doubt when I started my work-from-anywhere home business in an industry that was a 180 degree “about face” from what I knew well, real estate and construction, I would not have enjoyed the success, lifestyle and freedom we do today.

When I started my podcast, “Life’s Hard Succeed Anyway,” same thing.

It’s time to stop listening to any negativity and start speaking words of life.

It’s time to speak words to yourself that are true, honorable, just, pure, lovely, and commendable (Phil 4:8).

If you need to be reminded of what those are, do a quick google search for “List of things God says I am?”

In his word you will find what he says about you.

Here are just a few:

  • You are accepted and worthy   (Psalm 139)
  • You are never alone                 (Romans 8:28,39)
  • You have the mind of Christ     (1 Corinthians 2:16)
  • You have hope                         (Psalm 62:5)
  • You lack nothing                      (Philippians 4:19)
  • You have strength                   (Psalm 28:7)

And the list goes on…

Stop listening to the negative voices in your head and start speaking words of life, truth, freedom and success!
